The Sound of Raasay is the perfect place to learn to dinghy sail or to improve your skills - clean, clear seas, variable winds and breathtaking views. Our fleet at Raasay House includes a Drascombe Lugger, Wayfarers, Toppers and Oigh Niseach – one of only three traditional Lewis fishing boats in the world – and we offer a range of RYA and bespoke courses.

A 2 day course for beginners. You will learn how to sail safely and confidently in light winds under supervision.

RYA Dinghy Seamanship Skills
A 2 day course for those with Level 2 knowledge. The ideal course for sailors with basic skills who want to refine their technique and use a variety of boats.

Dinghy Day Sailing
A 2 day course for those with Level 2 knowledge. Ideal for sailors who want to plan and prepare for a day cruise, including pilotage in adverse weather conditions.

We can tailor our sailing courses to your individual needs. The courses only run at certain times of the year so please call to find out more.
