Terms and conditions

BOOKING Subject to availability, we can provisionally hold a place on a residential activity course for up to 10 days. Provisional bookings must be confirmed by completing and signing the Booking Form and paying a 25% non-refundable deposit. We accept Credit and Debit cards. All cheques should be in pounds sterling and made payable to Raasay House.

FEES Once the Booking Form has been signed and the deposit paid the booking becomes firm.  Payment of the balance for the total course fee is due not less than 8 weeks before the course date. If the booking is made less than 8 weeks before the course date, the full course fee is payable with the booking. In the event of non-payment of fees, Raasay House reserves the right to release your place.

Supplementary charges which occur during a course - eg loss or damage to equipment, damage to fixtures or fittings, and the cost of any phone calls made on your behalf, will be invoiced separately and payment due on departure. All accommodation and course fees include transport to and from the ferry terminal.

We reserve the right to increase our fees in the event of conditions arising that are outside our control, but once you have paid the full fee, which you can do at any stage, we will levy no further price rises on you.  So, please consider paying in full when you book, to free you of worry about deadlines and price rises.

AMENDMENT OR CANCELLATION
Amendments: If you wish to change any of the booking dates or details after payment of the deposit, we will do our best to make the change, but we cannot guarantee that it will be possible. Any amendments must be requested in writing. If for any reason it is not possible to make a requested amendment, then the original booking remains a firm contract.

In the unlikely event numbers are not sufficient Raasay House reserves the right to cancel a course 4 weeks prior to start date and 100% fees will be returned.

Cancellation: If you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing. The cancellation takes effect from the date the notification is received by us. If you cancel a confirmed booking we will have to make a cancellation charge to compensate us for our administrative costs.

If you cancel more than eight weeks before your expected arrival date you will forfeit the 25% deposit portion of your fees.  If you cancel less than eight weeks before the expected arrival date you will owe us all of the unpaid balance of the course fee.

Groups of 10 or more: If numbers increase we will endeavour to accommodate this.  If numbers decrease for your group, as an agent for a group you will be liable for the appropriate cancellation fee.  Full payment is due 8 weeks before commencement of the course.  Late settlement results in an admin fee of 2% per month on the outstanding balance.

Cancellation fee for group bookings of 10 or more people:

26 weeks – 25% of total cost

18 weeks – 50%of total cost

12 weeks – 75% of total cost

  8 weeks – 100% of total cost

Cancellation charges may be reclaimable from your insurance.  Insurance is not included in the course fee.  When you book, you should ensure that you take out adequate insurance to cover all eventualities through a reputable broker.

FORCE MAJEURE We will not be liable to pay any compensation if we are forced to cancel or change any aspect of the course due to circumstances beyond our control which we or our suppliers could not have reasonably foreseen or forestalled. Such circumstances include, but are not restricted to, war or threat of war, terrorist activity, riots or civil strife, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, bad weather, closure of airports, ports or stations, cancellation or changes in schedules by air, land or sea carriers.
