We are a family hotel operating in a beautiful tastefully renovated country house overlooking some of the most stunning scenery you will see anywhere in Scotland. Our guests rave about our food and our staff. If we get something wrong we listen to our guests. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and provide an even better experience to the thousands of guests we welcome to this unique Scottish island every year.Various jobs with start dates between February and July, mostly live in positions.

Details
Hours are usually over 5 or 6 six day, statutory holidays,
Room in shared cottage or wood cabin (pod) opportunity to join Sailing, Climbing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Archery & Coasteering.

Start dates between February and May through to the end of October/November with the possibility of permanent positions.

Hotel Duty Manager

We are looking for a Hotel Duty Manager with the flexibility to work across all operational departments whilst leading by example. As the Hotel Duty Manager you will lead and motivate your team focusing on providing the highest level of service to our guests.

The Job:
The Hotel Duty Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the hotel, staff training and motivation, shift planning, running events and group bookings.

The Person:
A dynamic Hospitality Manager with at least 1 year experience in a similar establishment as either a Hotel Duty Manager or a Hotel Food and Beverage Manager.  We are looking for a tech savvy professional Hotel Duty Manager with a proven track record of leading a team by example. If you have great communication and organisational skills plus a friendly and approachable manner we would love to hear from you.

Hotel Maintenance Person

We are looking for self starter with plenty of experience in maintaining a commercial building or in the building trade.

The Job:

This is a permanent, all year round position for the right person. A varied position with overall responsibility for Maintaining fixtures and fittings in our guest bedrooms, lounges, toilets and public areas. Maintenance of the grounds, parking areas and driveways as required. Liaising with all departments to coordinate deliveries and physically assisting in the unloading of deliveries. Driving the business minibuses to collect/drop off clients and as otherwise required.

The Person:

Previous experience in a similar position in a hotel/commercial building or previous experience in the building trades is essential. Other qualities you will need are a good attitude, a dynamic personality, plenty of positive energy, good attention to detail as well as the ability to manage yourself and your time well.

Hotel Bar Person

We are looking for an outgoing, friendly and trustworthy Hotel Bar Person who will take excellent care of our various clientele.

The Job:

As the Primary Hotel Bar Person you will take the lead in the day-to-day bar service as well being responsible for the the overall cleanliness of the bar, making sure that stock levels are maintained and that licensing laws are followed. You will be responsible for cashing up tills and following up on any discrepancies at the end of the day. You will be required to assist the waiting team with running drinks and sometimes food. You will also assist the management in maximising sales in the food and beverage department.

The Person:

You will be friendly, fast and enthusiastic behind the hotel bar. You are an ‘on the ball’ individual who manages your time well and takes pride in keeping a clean, well stocked and welcoming bar. You will at least 1 season of experience in a similar Hotel/Bar Person role.

Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter, with the flexibility to assist our chefs when required, in delivering a fabulous dining experience.

The Job:
As the Primary Kitchen Porter you will take the lead in the day-to-day dish washing and the weekly, fortnightly and monthly deep cleaning of food prep and pot wash areas. You will be supporting the chef team and may be asked to assist in various ways in the kitchen depending on your experience and aptitude for the tasks.
